Hello Past and Future Guests,
Unfortunately at times we lose power in Lakehead at our homes just like every other location in California. Recently it has been two to three times during the summer/fall where PG&E proactively shuts off power due to winds and a high fire danger. At times it will also happen in the winter from an unusually strong storms. This happens maybe once a year or twice a year. This is normally due to heavy snow fall or winds pushing trees onto power lines.
Power failures can range from a few hours to multiple days. In all three homes we have a kit of flash lights.
Retreat 1: Whole Home Backup Generator
Retreat 2: Whole Home Backup Generator
Retreat 3: Portable external generator with extension cords to keep a few things running.
Although these power failures are unpredictable and out of our control, we will communicate with our guests as best we can if a power failure is planned or develops by PG&E.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
